Last time my mentor and I talked we discussed my internship this summer. I am going to be interning at his church, “The Kardia,” in Seattle, Washington. I have been doing some work through google docs, and google sheets for him and his sermon series, but now I will be more hands on with spreading the name of the church throughout the city and not just planning what his sermon titles and illustrations are going to be. The only problem with interning in the city is that I will be away from my parents house which is rent free, and has easy transportation. Trying to figure out these problems has shown me that God is always working, but in ways were might not be used to seeing. When I think of an act of God, I picture the sky opening up and trumpets sounding. However, I come to realize that God is the head of the body and we are the hands and feet. So God may do something to use with one of our friends, our pastor, our parents and it may seem different, but it is still God at work for us.
First, this internship seems very cool and exciting! Internships are hard to get and you should be proud to receive one. I really enjoyed your last several sentences. I have never thought of the image with trumpets sounding and the sky opening. It's also interesting to hear what people picture in their mind.
ReplyDeleteThis post was very inspiring for me! It is so important to realize that God working in our lives is not always going to be an overt sign but small things that we need to look for. Looking for these small ways in our lives brings us closer to Him and it looks like you are realizing this. Thank you for this message as I need to continue to see this in my life as well!
ReplyDeleteThis post was very inspiring. With renting myself, I feel like I can resonate with a lot of what you said/ thought. It's so cool to be able to hear someone's thoughts, and this is really well written. Congratulations on the internship!
ReplyDeleteI've seen this kind of provision in my own life and it's encouraging in hard seasons to know that God is concerned with all of our needs. I've never seen anyone that God has called to something go without. It seems as if what you need always seems to find you, and when you move in faith, God never misses an opportunity to show us who He is. I know that God will come through for you and this opportunity is exciting.
ReplyDeleteI always find it exciting to hear about what internships people are doing. And yours seems like and really awesome one. I really like how you talk about how God is always working in our lives. That is very important and it is an easy thing to forget.
